Farsoon is excited to announce the establishment of a new subsidiary in Germany for expanding Farsoon operations to Europe. As of April 01, Dirk Simon (currently BASF New Business GmbH) is nominated as the Managing Director of FARSOON Europe GmbH and will become a member of Farsoon’s global management team.
Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, chairman of Farsoon Technologies, congratulated Dirk Simon on his position and stated: “Europe is central to the growth of additive manufacturing. Farsoon is eager to work with and support the growing market here and we are very happy to have someone with the experience and integrity of Dirk Simon be our representative.”
Following the establishment of its US office last year Farsoon is dedicated to engaging with and supporting the additive manufacturing user base on a global scale. With this commitment Farsoon encourages future additive manufacturing growth in Europe with innovative and competitive products. FARSOON Europe will work closely with local partners and customers to provide enhanced support and cooperation and will be part of Farsoon’s overall strategy for international growth.

Dirk Simon worked in BASF for nearly 6 years, and pushed the topic “3D-Printing at BASF” from Scouting through New Business Incubation into the Business Build-up. He holds a PhD-degree in Polymer Science and has over 20 years working experiences in Applications of Plastics, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing and Management in various chemical companies in Germany and Switzerland. Most recently he has held the position of Global Business Director with BASF New Business GmbH, and part of the management team of BASF 3D-Printing Solutions GmbH in Heidelberg. In this function he has been responsible to build the 3D-Printing teams in BASF from the scratch, establishing the 3D-P Application Technology Center and starting up the business development of BASF 3D-P solutions
