Shanghai/China, TCT Asia, – March 1st, 2018 – Oerlikon, a leading global technology and engineering Group, signed a long-term collaborative agreement with Farsoon Technologies to supply qualified Oerlikon AM metal powders for Farsoon Additive Manufacturing (AM) metal systems. The purpose of the collaboration is to increase the adoption of AM in China by providing customers with a combined solution of system hardware and fully certified metal powders.
The agreement between Oerlikon and Farsoon will establish a new business model for the Chinese AM market. Oerlikon will be a partner of Farsoon as a preferred metal material supplier. Additionally, Farsoon will be qualifying MetcoAdd powders tailored for additive manufacturing processes for Farsoon metal systems, which will enable customers purchasing Farsoon systems to also purchase qualified Oerlikon AM powders. Farsoon is committed to creating an open platform system for all metal AM systems that provides users the freedom to innovate and expand boundaries of AM technology.
The two parties will further collaborate on research and development projects to optimize the process performance for applications, initially focused on the Chinese market. Furthermore, to accelerate the adoption of AM in industries such as aerospace, power generation, tooling and automotive, Oerlikon will work with Farsoon to develop customized alloys for their AM systems.

Farsoon will host TCT Asia visitors at booth N1-G16, where its latest AM systems will be on display.
